Tiled Swimming Pool Installation Guide for New Build Pools

Standard Kit Thickness 85mm

Construct the swimming pools shell as per the architect's or your swimming pool builder’s construction methods, to a fully tanked waterproofed structure.

All swimming pool fittings will need to protrude past the waterproofed pool shell to allow for the Thermapool system, plus the thickness of the tile adhesive and tile.

Brief Guide:

Starting at the bottom of the swimming pool walls apply the insulation panels in a brick bond fashion with insulation lines running horizontally along the swimming pool walls and floor using Thermapool insulation adhesive.

Before applying the render coat each of the boards should be checked to confirm they have adhered correctly and that all grooves are clean and free from any dirt or dust.

Apply a coat of Thermapool Insulation Render on to the insulation, whilst wet, lay the Thermapool Reinforcing Mesh into the render and finish, when dry apply one coat of Thermapool Primer liquid using a roller.

Only use Thermapool tile adhesive and grout when applying tiles.

Apply your chosen tiles.

We recommend that concrete swimming pool steps are built on top of the insulation prior to applying the Thermapool insulation render coat.

When installing Swimming Pool Hand Rails or Steps/Swimming Pool Ladders/Automatic Underwater Covers, where they are to be attached cut out the insulation and then refill with concrete and render as normal.

The cover pit should also be fully insulated on all sides.

We recommend all pipework be insulated with Thermapool Boards and that all swimming pools using Thermapool have a site drainage solution installed into the soil prior to the swimming pool construction taking place.
